Full service creations

Kloosterboer is specialized in design and construction of interiors for museums, exhibitions, theme parks, restaurants and decor for theater, television and film. Both in the Netherlands and abroad.

Every project is unique. Anything goes, anything is possible in terms of design, material, size and technology. We have departments in set and interior construction, furniture construction (also ship interior), decorating, (fine) metal working, electrical engineering and AV multimedia. All these different creative disciplines require different standards and thus their own specific approach. Innovative techniques are combined with traditional craft. The disciplines collaborate closely, are flexible enough to respond quickly and ultimately team up to produce truly striking creations.

We work with a team of 50 permanent employees and 20 freelancers. Their knowledge, improvisation and love for the unusual guarantee that the result will meet every expectation.

From drawing board to end result

Our way of working is characterized by the close cooperation between designer and builder. Kloosterboer can be engaged at as an active partner in the proces at the conceptual state, the design stage or for ready-to-implement plans. From drawing board to end result we are in constant dialogue with our clients.

Engineering

At the start of a project our engineering team – led by an experienced project manager and in close collaboration with the designer – gets to work translating the design into technical drawings. Details, choice of materials and all the technical specifications are meticulously prepared for the production stage. Our well-equipped workshop and engineering department in Purmerend play in both the preparation and production an important role.

Production

As much preparation as possible is completed at our workshop so that construction on location can proceed without any hitches. After the assembly, delivery and festive opening of the project, our work isn’t finished. We provide service and maintenance when necessary.

Technical applications / AV multimedia

In recent years, our technical / AV multimedia department has become a broadly developed department. Mechanical and electrical driven components are designed and constructed here, as well as (projector-)projections, various control systems, lighting, robotics, and show-control.

We strongly believe that investing time and effort pays off in the long run. The fully in-house developed all-in-one show-control system for mechanics, lighting and AV is a great example of this. This stable control system is specifically designed for the exhibits that we produce and is also user-friendly for the client.

The old and the new craft

We find it important that the knowledge gained in the past 35 years is passed on to the younger generation. A healthy mutually beneficial relationship between the old and the new craft is the foundation for an inspiring workplace.

We actively participate in improving cooperation between education and business. We are a recognized training company for various disciplines. We also organize – together with educational institutions – school visits to the company to create enthusiasm for the technical craftsmanship.

Sustainability in production and result

Sustainability has become self-evident within Kloosterboer. We are constantly evolving and are always looking for applications for new innovative developments to increase the sustainability in our production process and of the final product.
