Crossroads Rotterdam
In the renovated Wereldmuseum, visitors are introduced to a contemporary museum in which Rotterdam's own impressive collection takes center stage.
In the semi-permanent display at Kruispunt Rotterdam, the museum places its collection in a contemporary context. Supplemented with new works by artists and Rotterdam residents who were inspired by the museum's collection. As a kind of dialogue between then and now, far away and close.
Kruispunt Rotterdam makes it clear that Rotterdam has always brought the world closer, starting with (trade) travel, and today it houses the world with more than 170 nationalities. That realization begins immediately upon entering with the work Globetrotter Rotterdam by spoken word artist Derek Otte, who places the history of the museum in context with the current debate in society.
Kloosterboer is responsible for the construction of the semi-permanent performance, including the supply of the Audio Visual hardware.
Kruispunt Rotterdam can be seen until September 3, 2028.
