100 years Schiphol
On September 19, 1916, a plane landed on a piece of farmland in the Haarlemmermeer. Not far from Amsterdam, five meters below sea level. There was no landing track yet. Only four wooden pilots, nothing else. This exhibition is about one hundred years of Schiphol: from muddy pastures to high-tech airports. And about the future. Where will be Schiphol? Are there any limits to growth?
Join the traffic tower game and guide planes safely to the landing ground. Step into the world of the marechaussee in a real passport desk. And leave your wish for the future. Should Schiphol move to the North Sea? Are we flying over fifty years in unmanned airplanes?
