Bokkenrijders

In June, the large-scale spectacle musical rises in Maastricht. Bokkenrijders. A unique production featuring 600 drones, 100 actors, 10 horses, and 1 buck, in a spectacular open-air setting. The grandstand for visitors has been specially built on the grass, so that everyone can experience the spectacle up close.

Bokkenrijders brings the dark, fascinating Limburg legend to life in the open air. Directed by Servé Hermans and Peter Noten, with the participation of 't Mestreechs Volleks Tejater.

For this special production, we realized various set elements that were constructed in the stadium. Commissioned by Toneelgroep Maastricht and technical producer Michiel van der Zijde, we handled, among other things, the finishing of the 12-meter rotating stage, various set components, and the paneling of the LED screens.

In addition, we realized various special features, including a hatch in the stage for an inflatable, rotating walls in the scaffolding structure, and a flush-mounted fire ring that can be driven over. A unique part of the set consists of three steel house frames on triple swivels, equipped with a gas installation that allows them to be set on fire in a controlled manner during the performance.

All parts were produced in our own workshop and subsequently assembled on site in five days.

The Bokkenrijders is on view in Maastricht from June 3 to June 27.
