The Architect – International Theatre Amsterdam

For the International Theatre Amsterdam, Kloosterboer created the set for The Architect, directed by Rebecca Frecknall. This contemporary adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Master Builder Solness premiered on May 31, 2026.

The play follows Sela, a successful architect whose carefully constructed world begins to crumble when the young and ambitious Hilde enters her life. In The Architect ambition and doubt, power and vulnerability, reality and dreams become interwoven into a psychological game.

The set design by scenographer Chloe Lamford translates Sela's world to the stage through maquettes, miniature worlds, and surprising scales. The open architecture blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination and forms the backdrop for this intriguing drama.
