Sol LeWitt

Sol LeWitt was one of the most important post-war American artists. He gave no interviews, refused awards and never wanted to be photographed. His work had to speak for him. Who was this mysterious artist? The Jewish Museum delves into the background of Sol LeWitt with murals – created especially for this exhibition – installations and Jewish projects.

LeWitt is one of the founders of conceptual art: the idea that an idea can be art in itself. The exhibition focuses on LeWitt's Jewish background and his special bond with the Netherlands.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the construction of this temporary exhibition in the Jewish Museum.
