Museum of the Region – Stadskanaal

After 50 years, the former Regional Historical Centre (SHC) has been given a new home in the Stadskanaal Library. If Museum of the Region It now tells the story of the Canal Region in a contemporary and accessible way.

The exhibition shows how the region has been shaped by pioneers and tenacious individuals from all corners of the world. Scattered throughout the library, so-called experience units invite visitors to literally step into history.

The various installations bring together themes and snapshots of the era, making the history of the Canal Region tangible and experiential.
