Utrecht University Botanical Gardens – Evolution Garden

The world's largest and most comprehensive Evolution Garden has opened at Utrecht University's Botanical Gardens. Visitors can stroll through 900 million years of plant history.

Along the paths, several key moments in plant evolution are highlighted. Each moment features an informative sign and an art installation that illustrates how plants have adapted, for example, in dispersing seeds or surviving in dry regions. The installations are dynamic in various ways: because evolution is always in motion.

In collaboration, we created various educational displays, public information, and art installations that not only inform but also amaze visitors.

The Evolution Garden is not only a beautiful place to stroll, but also offers insights into the origins of biodiversity and the adaptability of plants. Especially now, when nature is under pressure, this is more relevant than ever.
