Sol LeWitt

Sol LeWitt was one of the most important postwar American artists. He refused interviews, refused awards, and refused to be photographed. His work had to speak for him. Who was this mysterious artist? With murals created especially for this exhibition, installations, and Jewish projects, the Jewish Museum delves into Sol LeWitt's background.

LeWitt is one of the founders of conceptual art: the idea that an idea can be art in itself. The exhibition explores LeWitt's Jewish background and his unique connection to the Netherlands.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the construction of this temporary exhibition in the Jewish Museum.
