Time for Papua – Wereldmuseum Leiden

Wereldmuseum Leiden will open its new exhibition "Time for Papua" on February 13, 2026: an impressive presentation of 400 objects, selected from the world's largest Papuan collection from western New Guinea.

The collection, partly formed during the colonial period, demands an approach that incorporates context, historical connections, and responsibility. "Tijd voor Papoea" (Time for Papua) highlights both the traditional and current significance of these objects and, for the first time in sixty years, brings together historical works with contemporary art and voices from Papua and the Dutch diaspora.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the exhibition construction of this special presentation.
