Bentheimer Poort Coevorden

Coevorden was a fortress from 1610 to 1854, a walled and fortified city. You could only enter and exit through two gates. Remains of the Bentheimer Gate have been discovered at the historic location of the former entrance gate.

Parts of the former city gate can be viewed in showcases on both sides of Bentheimerstraat. Gilded historical utensils are displayed on one side of the road. On the other side of the road are gilded weapons from the time of the gatekeepers. In this way, the historical stories of the past become tangible and vivid. The pieces are enlarged replicas, the real objects remain in the depot.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the production of these exhibition elements.
