Bentheimerpoort Coevorden

From 1610 to 1854, Coevorden was a fortified city, surrounded by walls with only two gates for entry and exit. Remnants of the Bentheimer Gate have been discovered at the historical site of the former entrance.

In display cases on either side of Bentheimerstraat, parts of the former city gate can be viewed. On one side of the road, gilded historical everyday objects are showcased, while on the other side, gilded weapons from the time of the gatekeepers are displayed. This brings the historical stories of the past to life in a tangible way. The pieces are enlarged replicas, with the original artifacts remaining in the depot.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the production of these exhibition elements.
