Brielle 450 years

In 2022, the 450th anniversary of the liberation of Brielle, the first city to be liberated from Spanish rule, was celebrated, a pivotal moment in Dutch history. On April 1, 1572, the Sea Beggars captured Brielle "in the name of Orange," marking the beginning of the liberation of the Netherlands.

Kloosterboer has realized several subprojects, designed by Kinkorn, to bring these historical events to life. One of the highlights is the Geuzen- en Martyrs Route, which symbolically connects the April Fool's Day Monument and the Pilgrimage Church in a permanent route of reflection and inspiration.
