House of Hilde
In January 2015, the new archaeology center of the province of North Holland opened: Huis van Hilde.
At the heart of Huis van Hilde is an impressive exhibition on the archaeology and settlement history of North Holland. You can discover how people lived in the past and how an archaeologist can reconstruct an entire human life using what is found underground.
Films and multimedia presentations depict the landscape, time periods, and excavations. The permanent exhibition offers a glimpse into the depot, where another 10,000 boxes containing 2 million archaeological finds are stored.
