Into D'mentia

Into D'mentia has developed a dementia simulator that allows healthy people to experience what it's like to live with dementia. This specially designed simulator allows healthy people to experience confusion, uncertainty, disorientation, and other feelings that people with dementia experience daily. Experiencing dementia firsthand leads to a greater understanding of the disease, improved relationships, and a reduced care burden.

Audiovisual resources, an interactive narrative, and a clever design give caregivers, students, and family members a clear understanding of patients' experiences. Into D'mentia is unique; nowhere else in the world is training offered in this effective way.

The simulation takes place in a mobile cabin. A kitchen-diner has been built into the cabin, where the participant experiences a day in the life of someone with dementia.

In addition to the 2013 traveling simulator, Kloosterboer built a second Into D'mentia simulator in 2019 for SOSU Østjylland in Denmark.
