Kessels Museum

The new Kessels Museum takes you on a journey through the history of the former musical instrument factory of Mathieu Kessels and sons in the city center of Tilburg.

The museum showcases the legacy of Mathieu Kessels, who was active in Tilburg between 1880 and 1950. He made all sorts of instruments: brass, woodwind, percussion, string, and keyboard. He exported these instruments worldwide.

Mathieu Kessels was a driven and progressive entrepreneur, composer, organizer, and promoter of musical life. Around 1920, the factory employed over 450 people, making it the city's largest employer.

The museum's interior was designed by Kinkorn. Kloosterboer produced and installed this new interior.
