Crossroads Rotterdam

In the renovated Wereldmuseum, visitors are introduced to a contemporary museum that focuses on Rotterdam's own impressive collection.

In the semi-permanent exhibition Kruispunt Rotterdam, the museum places its collection in a contemporary context. New works by artists and Rotterdammers inspired by the museum's collection are supplemented with new works. It serves as a kind of dialogue between then and now, near and far.

Kruispunt Rotterdam illustrates how Rotterdam has always brought the world closer, beginning with (trade) voyages, and today houses the world with over 170 nationalities. This realization begins immediately upon entering, with the work "Globetrotter Rotterdam" by spoken word artist Derek Otte, who contextualizes the museum's history within the current debate in society.

Kloosterboer is responsible for the construction of the semi-permanent performance, including the supply of audiovisual hardware.

Kruispunt Rotterdam can be seen until September 3, 2028.
