Fortress Holland

The visitor center of the Droogdok Jan Blanken underwent a complete transformation. Everything has been fully renovated and converted into a fully-fledged museum. This is a collaboration between the Droogdok Jan Blanken and the City Museum of Hellevoetsluis to better highlight the rich history of the fortified town.

In the permanent exhibition 'The Iron Age,' you are taken back to the nineteenth century, when iron became as essential as air, water, and fire. The centerpiece of this exhibition is the beautifully restored model of the Rijkswerf of Hellevoetsluis

For young explorers, there is the Workshop of the Iron Age, where children can experiment with building wooden ships, drawing with a pantograph, bending frames, navigating, and much more!

Kloosterboer produced the interior, designed by Kinkorn, including the audiovisual hardware and show control systems.
