The stubborn children of Annie MG Schmidt

Finally, a permanent home has been found for Annie MG Schmidt's headstrong children. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Children's Book Museum, a new permanent interactive exhibition about the queen of Dutch children's literature has opened.

The exhibition "The Stubborn Children of Annie MG Schmidt" takes children and their (grand)parents on a wonderful adventure through the unconventional world of Annie MG Schmidt. Through several poems and the characteristic characters Abeltje, Floddertje, Ibbeltje, Minoes, Otje, Pluk van de Petteflet, and Wiplala, children are encouraged to use their own creativity. Through interactive games, they recognize or learn more about Schmidt's work.

Step into Abeltje's elevator for an exciting journey, create a cat vlog with Minoes, or build beautiful verses like a poetry mason at Ibbeltje's Poetry Building Site. Listen to the most beautiful Schmidt songs on Annie FM. And get creative with Floddertje's word mixer and letter vermicelli, but be careful that the soup for Floddertje's sick mother doesn't explode...

Kloosterboer is responsible for the execution of the interior and the interactive elements.

The permanent exhibition "The headstrong children of Annie MG Schmidt" will be open to visitors from December 8th.
