Our Country – Decolonization, generations, stories

On February 8, 2022, the semi-permanent exhibition – OUR COUNTRY – Decolonization, Generations, Stories opened at Museum Sophiahof.

The exhibition shows how the history of the Dutch East Indies continues to influence Dutch culture today. Kloosterboer is responsible for the interior design and AV installation. This includes projections on full screens that resemble memories.

Through eight family stories, this exhibition outlines the complex and often painful colonial history and the effects of the ongoing process of decolonization on our society.
