Triceratops
Since 2013, Naturalis has been conducting impressive excavations in Wyoming, USA. Researchers have discovered the fossils of no fewer than six individual Triceratops dinosaurs, a unique find worldwide.
After more than ten years of excavation and preparation, the animals will be ready to go on display at the museum in October 2024. Prior to the exhibition at Naturalis, the five skeletons will be assembled at various libraries and natural history museums in the Netherlands. Visitors can witness this assembly process up close.
After assembly, the five triceratops will travel simultaneously to Naturalis, where they will take center stage in the new exhibition. A 3D-printed copy of each dinosaur will remain in the libraries.
Kloosterboer was commissioned to build the Triceratops on Tour exhibition. It is composed of as many sustainable and recycled materials as possible, reusing elements from previous exhibitions.
